2007-2008 NFL Predictions

Posted by in NFL Predictions on August 30th, 2008 | 1 Comment

Here are my predictions for the 2007-2008 NFL Season.

AFC:

AFC East Winner – New England Patriots (12-4) – This is a no brainer. The Pats don’t have any holes on both sides of the ball. I doubt anyone in the AFC East will be able to get a win from them, but maybe Mangenious can steal a win from them.

AFC North Winner – Baltimore Ravens (11-5) – With the new rushing weapon in Willis McGahee, the Ravens will be able to effectively run the ball to cure their offensive woes. Last year, the Ravens ranked 30th in yards and 25th in points. With one of the league’s top defense (2nd in fewest points allowed, 1st in fewest yards allowed) it is easy to pick the Ravens to win the division. This year, expect the Ravens’ offensive numbers to go up, while the defensive numbers stay at the top of the league.

AFC South Winner – Indianapolis Colts (10-6) – There should and will be concerns will the Colts defense, who is starting a lot of new players on the defensive side of the ball, but their offense will be as potent as ever to make up for points the defense gives up.

AFC West Winner – San Diego Chargers (12-4) – Another no brainer here. LT will continue to be ridiculous to lead the Chargers as the top offense in the league.

AFC Wild Card – Denver Broncos (11-5) – It’s going to be hard to pass on the Broncos this year: Dre’ Bly and Champ Bailey should shut down most teams’ passing attack. Travis Henry will put up some big numbers in the Broncos’ zone-blocking system. Plus, they have a fairly easy schedule.

AFC Wild Card – …

Fantasy Football Draft Strategy

I didn’t forget about you guys.  Hopefully most of you have subscribed to my RSS feed.  We are going to finally get back to business once the NFL season kicks off and we will continue to provide a weekly betting analysis.

Over the next two weeks most of you will be completing your fantasy football drafts.  If you want a convenient cheat sheet, check out this website that I put together: Fantasy Football Rankings.  It’s an index where I’ve ranked players and linked their names to their NFL.com pages so you can go back and forth to check their stats if you’re torn between two players.  This will really give you an edge during your draft.  It also contains blog articles to fantasy football articles and links to stat leaders.  It’s everything you can possibly want when conducting your draft on one single page.

Week 3 – RB – Forte, Jackson, Lynch, or Jacobs?

Posted by in NFL Week 3 Start 'Em Sit 'Em Advice on August 4th, 2008 | Comment »

Question: Need help picking my RBs for week 3.

QB: Matt Hasselbeck, Jake Delhomme or Carson Palmer

RB: Matt Forte, Steven Jackson, Marshawn Lynch, Brandon Jacobs, Larry Johnson, or Steve Slaton (Pick 3)

Best answer:

Jake Delhomme – Delhomme will be getting Steve Smith back. Palmer has been struggling and Hasselbecks WRs are hurt.

Steven Jackson – Jackson will go nuts in SEA as this the Rams best chance to get a win while Seattle’s offense is struggling.

Marshawn Lynch – Lynch should have a very good game against OAK as the Bills will get great field position all day against a terrible offense.

Brandon Jacobs – Jacobs will run all over the Bengals.

What do you think? Answer below!
