Florida State-Wake Forest Thursday Night College Football Pick
I am taking the Demon Deacons at +7 by buying a point. I like them for a few reasons. First, I like home underdogs in the lights (see Miami over Texas A&M). Second, these teams match up pretty well. Their offensive and defensive numbers are pretty even:
Florida St. comes into this game with the 91st ranked offense in the nation, the 65th ranked passing offense, and the 87th ranked rush offense. They are averaging 22.8 PPG.
Wake Forest comes into this game with the 96th ranked offense in the nation. The 94th ranked passing offense, and the 72nd ranked rush offense. They are averaging 27.6 PPG
Third, Florida St. is decimated by injuries.
Fourth, Bowden hates playing on Thursday nights. Florida St. hasn't had much success playing on Thursday nights.
Fifth, Florida State's rushing game isn't doing too well right now.
Sixth, most people forget that Wake Forest won the ACC last year and beat Florida State in Tallahassee, 30-0.
Both teams are rolling: Florida St. has 4 straight victories and Wake Forest has 3. I think taking the points on the home dog is a smarter play, especially when Wake Forest has been putting up good numbers offensively.
