Week 2: Miller or Bruce at WR/TE?

Posted by in NFL Week 2 Start 'Em Sit 'Em Advice on September 20th, 2009 | 5 Comments

Question: Start/Sit for Week 2: Miller, Bruce at WR/TE?

Another week another start/sit conundrum.

I have Zach Miller (Oakland at Kansas City), Isaac Bruce (San Francisco vs. Seattle), and Earl Bennett (Chicago vs. Pittsburgh) as possible WR/TE flex options. I’m not loving Bennett here, and both Bruce and Miller put on great shows last week, and both have favorable match ups.

Bruce has a lot of experience against the Seattle secondary, and Miller will eat up Kansas City if he gets targeted like he did last week.

Who do I start?

Should I take the gamble and start Jason Campbell against St. Louis over Tony Romo against the Giants (coming off of a career week, and, historically, being strong against NYG)?

Answer:

I would start Miller and Romo. Miller looks to be JaMarcus Russels saftey value (Oakland started two rookie WRs). Don’t even bother with Cambpell. He only had 4 really good games last year (300 yds and/or 2 TDs which gives him a 25% constistancy rating in my book) vs Romo (who had a 75% consistancy rating).

I like Bennet, I’m sorry man. I see your point but Jason Campbell isn’t as good as Hasselbeck and I wouldn’t expect St. Louis to be nearly as soft as they were last week. So don’t expect to see the same St. Louis game that you did last week. Keep Romo in he’s going to be consistently good this year…….. I can feel it.

Go Bruce and Romo. Even though the giants have the best pass rush i think his worst day will be better then cambles mediocre day

definately play ZMiller this week for all the points you said and that KC gave up 38 against BALT last week…do you really this BALT is that good an offense…

also i would not play IBruce this week against what looked to be an improved SEA def. (even against STL)

but as for a sleeper pick u may have one in EBennet this week, JCutler throws to him a lot and if he can manage to catch a couple this week he may have great fantasy stats

that is a very tough EC question…i think i may take my chances with TRomo because he is 4-0 against the NYG at home in the regular season

Personally, I would go with Miller. I think that Russell is very limited and will throw to the TE a lot, and I think they will move the ball effectively against KC.

For the extra credit. As much as betting against StL sounds good, I don’t trust Jason Campbell at all. I’d go with Romo personally. I think the Cowboy’s Offense will get theirs, even in losing the game.

Yeah I wouldn’t gamble with Romo and also I would start Miller
