In just after week 2, you’re already making transactions looking to improve your roster wherever you can. There has been a slew of injuries that are leaving you looking for a Plan B or your top draft picks are already letting you down. Here are the top waiver moves after week 2.
There are some concerns for RGIII owners. Although he’s actually put up solid back-to-back 20+ point games in week 1 and week 2, Robert Griffin III has been awful in the first half and clearly should take the blame for the losses in both weeks. His mechanics are off because of the knee injury and he’s afraid to get hit. There’s already talk that if the Redskins go 0-3, Shanahan should bench RGIII until he’s healthy and go with Kirk Cousins. Redskins fans are already calling for Cousins. If there is a QB controversy in Washington, you better start looking elsewhere for a reliable backup if you don’t already have one.
At the top of the QB waiver wire, I would take Philip Rivers. Rivers is looking good again despite not having a true #1 receiver. He has a bunch of roleplayers and he’s making it work. With a Malcom Flloyd, Eddie Royal, a healthy Antonio Gates, and now Danny Woodhead to work with on 3rd down, he has plenty of weapons at his disposal to work with. Ken Wissenhunt has been doing a great job with this offense and the Chargers offense should be back to the 27 PPG offense that we’ve been used to in year’s past when Rivers was a fantasy stud in the 2008-2011 years where Rivers averaged about 30 TD/year and threw for over 4,000 yards every single season. The Chargers are …

Question:
Standard League. Who should I start at Flex? Pick only 1.
Chris Ivory, Gio Bernard, Golden Tate, or Stevie Johnson
Answer:
I would go Golden Tate. I expect the Panthers and Seahawks to exchange TDs in this game. I like this game going over 47 points. Tate should also be Seattle’s top receiver this year as he takes a big step forward this year.
After Tate, I would actually go with Stevie Johnson. Not because he could be a top-scorer, but because he’s just straight thug and running his mouth against the Patriots. I hope he has a big game to back up his talk because the Patriots deserve getting a beat down.
Giovanni Bernard will be splitting caries with BenJarvus Green-Ellis. Giovanni Bernard gets maybe 15 carries this game against a tough Bears defense. I want to see how he splits the load with BenJarvus Green-Ellis first.
I wouldn’t advise you to start any Jets player. Chris Ivory is behind Bilal Powell on the depth chart and the Jets should be one of the lowest-scoring offenses in the league.…

Question:
Which QB should I go with in week 12, Matt Schaub or Colin Kaepernick?
Answer:
Colin Kaepernick looked awesome against the Bears last week, but Alex Smith may be back as the starting QB this week. However, Smith’s status is still uncertain. Matt Schaub put up ridiculous numbers last week against the Jaguars by throwing for over 500 yards, but will havbe a much tougher matchup this week against the Detroit Lions. Assuming Kaepernick gets the start, he can do a lot of damage against the Saints poor defense by running the ball.
Since Schaub plays on Thursday, he’s the safer pick since there still is a chance that Alex Smith starts on Sunday. However, if you have another option at QB on Sunday just in case you get news that Alex Smith starts then I would go with Kaepernick right now due to the upside in taking him against a poor defense that he get pick up tons of rushing yards on.…

Question:
Should I start Ryan Fitzpatrick or Matt Schaub. I need a win bad.
Answer:
This one is a no-brainer. Matt Schaub is facing the Jacksonville Jaguars, whose defense is ranked 26th in the NFL and giving up 27.3 PPG. Ryan Fitzpatrick has a matchup against a solid Miami Dolphins defensive unit that gives up just 20.7 PPG. The Texans will have far more opportunities to score than the Bills do this week. The only downside will be if Arian Foster takes most of those touchdowns.…

Question:
Which 2 WRs should I start in a standard league for week 4?
Michael Crabtree @ NYJ
Marques Colston @ GB
Danny Amendola vs. SEA
Dez Bryant vs. DAL
Answer:
This is a tough question since you have some tough matchups. Despite the tough Bears matchup, you have to start Dez Bryant as he’s your top WR. You play your best player regardless of the matchup. Bryant should still perform well even against the Bears. The Cowboys are at home on Monday Night which I like.
If this was a PPR league, I say you go Amendola, but without PPR, he’s not as valuable in standard leagues. Seattle has a tough defense and he shouldn’t be getting anywhere close to that 100 YPG that he’s been averaging.
I have Michael Crabtree on my squad but haven’t started him yet. He gets a lot of targets, but he’s not going to score a whole lot of TDs. He’ll gain 60-70 receiving yards consistently each week, but won’t put up any ridiculous numbers.
In your WR2 spot, I would go with Marques Colston. If you’re leaning Amedola for your WR2, that wouldn’t be a bad option either. Good luck.…

Question:
I have the following players and am struggling to decide who to start and who to sit.
Vincent Jackson vs. WAS
Eric Decker vs. OAK
Steve Smith @ ATL
Willis McGahee vs. OAK
Cedric Benson vs. NO
I have Jackson/Decker/Benson starting for week 4 but wondering if I should make a change. Thanks!
Answer:
You have some great matchups to work with. I would go with Vincent Jackson and Eric Decker as my starting WRs since they are facing two poor defenses. Decker should have his first monster fantasy game of the season. Big Ben threw for over 300 yards on the Raiders last week since the Raiders corners are banged up. Peyton Manning will pick them apart.
If you’re deciding between Benson and McGahee at RB, I say you go Benson. McGahee has some banged up ribs and is listed as questionable so he may sit this game out or take limited snaps. Green Bay was feeding Benson the ball last week and that should continue as they’re facing the Saints, who have the worst run defense in the league and gave up over 200 yards to Jamaal Charles last week.
You got it right. Vincent Jackson, Eric Decker, and Cedric Benson are your guys for week 4.…

Question:
I need to decide who to start in my flex spot for a standard scoring league.
Kendall Wright @ HOU
Robert Meachem @ KC
Dexter McCluster vs. SD
Or do I drop one of those guys to pick up Nate Burleson vs. MIN, but I’m limited to 12 add/drops for the year and already used 3.
Answer:
I would go with Robert Meachem, who has a pretty favorable matchup against the Chiefs. He’s also a deep ball threat, so maybe this week is the week that he cashes in that 40-yard TD to put your team over the top.
Kendall Wright has the toughest matchup against Texans defense that doesn’t give up a whole lot of points.
Dexter McCluster is too inconsistent for me to put in my starting lineup. I think you go Meachem here.…
