Week 4 – Start or Sit – Willis McGahee or Cedric Benson?

Posted by in NFL Week 4 Start 'Em Sit 'Em Advice on September 29th, 2012 | Comment »

I have the following players and am struggling to decide who to start and who to sit.

Vincent Jackson vs. WAS
Eric Decker vs. OAK
Steve Smith @ ATL
Willis McGahee vs. OAK
Cedric Benson vs. NO

I have Jackson/Decker/Benson starting for week 4 but wondering if I should make a change. Thanks!

You have some great matchups to work with. I would go with Vincent Jackson and Eric Decker as my starting WRs since they are facing two poor defenses. Decker should have his first monster fantasy game of the season. Big Ben threw for over 300 yards on the Raiders last week since the Raiders corners are banged up. Peyton Manning will pick them apart.

If you’re deciding between Benson and McGahee at RB, I say you go Benson. McGahee has some banged up ribs and is listed as questionable so he may sit this game out or take limited snaps. Green Bay was feeding Benson the ball last week and that should continue as they’re facing the Saints, who have the worst run defense in the league and gave up over 200 yards to Jamaal Charles last week.

You got it right. Vincent Jackson, Eric Decker, and Cedric Benson are your guys for week 4.…

Week 2 – WR – Start or Sit – Mike Wallace, Eric Decker, Torrey Smith, or Brandon Lloyd?

Posted by in NFL Week 2 Start 'Em Sit 'Em Advice on September 15th, 2012 | Comment »

Question: Which 2 wide receivers should I start in week 2?

Mike Wallace vs NYJ
Eric Decker @ ATL
Torrey Smith @PHI
Brandon Lloyd vs. ARI

Very nice group of wide receivers. Who did you take in the first 3 rounds? It looks like you got your QB and 2 RBs early and then went WR, WR, WR, WR and got a mighty fine set of receivers to work with.

I like Brandon Lloyd and Eric Decker this week. ┬áThe Pats should be able to score a ton of points at home against the Cardinals and hopefully Tom Brady looks Lloyd’s way in the endzone rather than the tight ends he typically looks to. I wasn’t high on Lloyd coming into this season since he’s Brady’s fourth option after Gronkowski, Herandnez, and Welker, but he still managed 5 receptions for 69 yards in week 1.

I also like Eric Decker due to his matchup against the Falcons. This game should be an offensive shootout and Manning will come out throwing to keep up with the Falcons high octane offense.

I love Torrey Smith and have him drafted on two of my teams as my WR3. He’ll be covered by Nnamdi Asomugha or Domonique Rodgers-Cromartie, so that will be a tough matchup for him.

The good news for Mike Wallace is that Darrell Revis is likely out this week with a concussion.

Good luck!…

Week 2 – WR – Start or Sit – Mike Wallace or Eric Decker?

Posted by in NFL Week 2 Start 'Em Sit 'Em Advice on September 14th, 2012 | 2 Comments

Question: Fantasy Football Start or Sit Week 2?

Start 2 WRs:
Victor Cruz (vs TB)
Marques Colston (@CAR)
Stephen Hill (@PIT)
Mike Wallace (vs. NYJ)
Eric Decker (@ATL)
James Jones (vs. CHI)

I would start Victor Cruz and Eric Decker. Cruz has the ability to exploit Eric Wright as Aqib Talib will be on Hakeen Nicks most of the game. I expect Atlanta vs. Denver to be a shootout so Manning should come firing and will look for his boy Eric Decker. Good luck!
