Survivor Pool Pick – Week 9 (2011) – Texans or Cowboys?

Posted by in NFL Survivor Pool Picks on November 4th, 2011 | 3 Comments

Question: What team would you pick in week 9 for your survivor pool?

I am trying to decide between the Oakland Raiders over Denver Broncos, Houston Texans over Cleveland Browns, or Dallas Cowboys over Seattle Seahawks. Seahawks scare me since they beat the Giants in New York! Kansas City Chiefs over Miami Dolphins and Atlanta Falcons over Indianapolis Colts also seem like good picks, but you just have to feel that the Colts are Dolphins are due for that first win sooner or later. Thank you in advance for your help.

Answer:

The Raiders and Broncos is a toss up. When those teams face each other, there’s just no knowing what will happen. That game will probably be decided by a field goal and will end up giving you a heart attack.

The Texans over the Browns is a solid choice, I always love picking against the Browns.

Seattle already upset the Giants a booted a ton of teams out of my league so I won’t pick against them. Their defense is stepping up and Marshawn Lynch is getting hot.

I would steer clear of the Chiefs over the Dolphins since I don’t have a whole lot of confidence in the Chiefs.

The Falcons should have no problem beating the Colts. The Colts are in shambles in Peyton Manning out.

Take the Texans or the Falcons!

Survivor Pool Pick – Week 2 (2011) – Steelers or Jets?

Posted by in NFL Survivor Pool Picks on September 15th, 2011 | 4 Comments

Question: Which team should I pick in week 2 of my survivor pool?

I’m thinking of taking the Pittsburgh Steelers over the Seattle Seahawks or the New York Jets over the Jacksonville Jaguars. I can’t imagine Pittsburgh starting out 0-2. Both New York and Pittsburgh are at home as well and I only want to stick to home teams for now. These picks looks pretty safe to me. ¬†Other picks that I am considering are the Green Bay Packers over the Carolina Panthers and the Baltimore Ravens over the Tennessee Titans. What game do you think I should take?

Answer:

Pittsburgh definitely is a lock. However, I want to save a team like the Steelers for later in the season. With that said, you may want to opt for the Jets who have an easy matchup at home against the Jaguars.

Survivor Pool Pick – Week 8 (2009) – Cowboys or Bears?

Posted by in NFL Survivor Pool Picks on October 28th, 2009 | 4 Comments

Question: I need a week 8 lock for my survivor pool.

My survivor pool is down to six people already and I’m looking for a lock.

I have taken the following teams
BAL
WAS
NYG
IND
PHI
PIT
NE

I need a solid week 8 pick and I was thinking of the following:

Dallas Cowboys over Seattle Seahawks
Chicago Bears over Cleveland Browns
Arizona Cardinals over Carolina Panthers
San Diego Chargers over Oakland Raiders

Let me know which pick would be best and advise of any pitfalls.

Best answer:

I like the Bears pick over the Browns the best. You also can’t go wrong with the Cowboys over the Seahawks. I’m would stay away from the Cardinals, as they’re just 4-3 and could get hurt by DeAngelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart. The AFC West is always a toss up — avoid division games. Take the Bears over the Browns or the Cowboys over the Seahawks this week. You won’t regret it.

Survivor Pool Pick – Week 4 (2009) – 49ers or Colts?

Posted by in NFL Survivor Pool Picks on October 3rd, 2009 | Comment »

Question: Which game should I pick in week 4 of my survivor pool?

Should I take the San Francisco 49ers over the St. Louis Rams or the Indianapolis Colts over the Seattle Seahawks? Both the Colts and the 49ers are playing at home. I’m not concerned with about saving either team for a later week, I’m just looking for the best matchup this week. What do you think?

Best answer:

I would take the 49ers over the Rams. The Rams are pathetic. I know you aren’t concerned about saving the Colts, but I think the 49ers have an equal or better chance at beating their opponent than the 49ers so you might as well save the Colts pick for when the Colts play a team like the Jaguars.

Survivor Pool Pick – Week 14 (2008) – Colts or Patriots?

Posted by in NFL Survivor Pool Picks on December 2nd, 2008 | 2 Comments

Question: Who should I take in my survivor pool in week 14?

I need your help selecting a game from the list below so I can advance to the next round:

Philadelphia Eagles @ New York Giants – Giants
Houston Texans @ Green Bay Packers – Green Bay
Cincinnati Bengals @ Indianapolis Colts – Indianapolis
Kansas City Chiefs @ Denver Broncos – Broncos
New England Patriots @ Seattle Seahawks – Patriots

Answer:

I don’t like the division games of Eagles @ Giants and Chiefs @ Broncos so take them off your list. Cincinnati only has 1 win this season, so they should get rocked by the Colts. I really like that pick. You also can’t go wrong with the Patriots over the Seahawks. You have some nice teams to pick from late in your survivor pool season. You must have done a solid job so far. Good luck.
