Week 12 – Need Help Setting Roster

Posted by in NFL Week 12 Start 'Em Sit 'Em Advice on November 19th, 2011 | 1 Comment

Question: I need some help picking my RB/WR/FLEX for week 12.

I’m in a 12-man PPR league.

RB: Peyton Hillis, Beanie Wells, Donald Brown, Danny Woodhead. (Pick 2)
WR: Roddy White, Andre Johnson, Mike Wallace, Santana Moss, Mike Thomas (Pick 2)
Flex: Anyone out of the RB or WR above. (Pick 1)

Thoughts? I have too many good WR to choose from and not enough RB choices. I am 6-5 so far this year, with 3 losses by under 10 points.

Best answer:

RB: I would go with Hillis and Woodhead.

WR: Start Roddy White, Andre Johnson and Mike Wallace.  Those are all very easy choices.  You have great wide receivers, but running back is a problem.

FLEX: Beanie Wells.

Week 7 – RB – Donald Brown or Laurence Maroney?

Posted by in NFL Week 7 Start 'Em Sit 'Em Advice on October 23rd, 2011 | Comment »

Question: Need Week 7 RB Start/Sit/Drop Help.

I’m in a PPR league and have 2 RB slots. I need help picking my RBs for Week 7.

This is a PPR league. 2 RB slots.

I currently have:
Chris Johnson (BYE)
Ryan Grant vs @ CLE
Laurence Maroney @ TB
Donald Brown @ STL

I planned on playing Ryan Grant and Laurence Maroney, but I just traded for Donald Brown. I picked up Maroney just to play him this week.

Willie Parker is also on the wire and he’ll be available tomorrow morning. I know he isn’t the primary RB for the Steelers, but if he start being the top guy again, he would be a good pickup.

I was considering dropping Maroney to try to pick up Parker, and playing Grant and Brown this week. What do you think?

Answer:

I would play Donald Brown and Ryan Grant this week. Willie Parker isn’t what he used to be so don’t bother trying to pick hum up off waivers. Mendenhall is Pittsburgh’s guy, Parker will ride the bench.

Weel 16 – FLEX – Felix Jones or Anquan Boldin?

Posted by in NFL Week 16 Start 'Em Sit 'Em Advice on December 28th, 2010 | Comment »

Question: Who should I play in the flex for week 16?

My team has made it to the Championship! Standard league (No PPR).

Here is my current lineup:

QB — Peyton Manning
WR — DeSean Jackson
WR — Hakeem Nicks
RB — Steven Jackson
RB — LeGarrette Blount
TE — Jason Witten
FLEX — NEED YOUR HELP!
K — David Akers
Def — Eagles D

Help me choose my flex from the following:

Felix Jones @ ARI — This who I’m leaning towards with such a great matchup against a bad Arizon defense. But I’ve read he missed practice Tuesday and Wednesday with a bruised shin. Does anyone know if this injury is srious? How big of a threat are Choice and Barber to his carries this week? Plus Felix is great as receiver out of the backfield–better than those other two.

OR

Anquan Boldin @ CLE — His inconsistency has been killing me lately. I know the guy is an absolute beast of a player, but he’s being out produced by Mason! He tore up the Browns early in the season, ironically his biggest fantasy output of the year believe it or not.

The other “options” I have on my bench include the following:

Brian Westbrook @ STL (Dixon might be out so he may be the lone workhorse RB v. Rams)

Tashard Choice @ ARI (If Felix can’t go he’s my favorite option due to workload/redzone looks)

Mario Manningham @ GB (Coming off a good performance last week–tougher GB matchup)

Donald Brown @ OAK (had a breakout game last week–if only Colts RB he could play good vs a bad Raiders Run D)

Who is my best bet out of this group? Who do you think I should …

Week 4 – WR/RB – Eddie Royal or Percy Harvin? Ray Rice or Donald Brown?

Posted by in NFL Week 4 Start 'Em Sit 'Em Advice on October 3rd, 2009 | Comment »

Question: I need some WR/RB start/sit help for week 4.

I need some advice for this week at these positions

WR:  Eddie Royal vs. DAL or Percy Harvin vs. GB

RB: Ray Rice @NE or Donald Brown vs. SEA

Thanks!

Answer:

Play Percy Harvin. He has shown me much more than Eddie Royal. I would also go with Ray Rice. Although McGahee is stealing all of his TDs, Rice picks up all of the yards and gets more touches than Donald Brown.

What do you think? Answer below!

Week 3 – RB – Cedric Benson, Pierre Thomas, or Donald Brown?

Posted by in NFL Week 3 Start 'Em Sit 'Em Advice on September 24th, 2009 | 1 Comment

Question: I need some start/sit advice for week 3.

Which 2 RBs should I start?

Cedric Benson vs. PIT — Tough matchup against a good run defense
Pierre Thomas @ BUF — Thomas has been injured all year
Donald Brown @ ARZ — Splitting carries with Joseph Addai
Thomas Jones vs. TEN — Up against another great run defense.

Answer:

Did you not take any RBs in the first 4 rounds of the draft? Tough break there. I would start Benson despite the tough matchup against Pittsburgh. He’s guaranteed to get the most touches out of your backs. Bench Thomas Jones. The last spot is a toss up between Pierre Thomas and Donald Brown. If Pierre Thomas is in the lineup on Sunday, I would start him so check the injury updates right before kickoff. If Pierre plays, you play him.
