STREAK CONTINUES

Posted by in College Football Picks on December 2nd, 2008 | 5 Comments

Last weekend we had some really nice plays going 5-3-1. Importantly, 3 out of 4 of our second week bets won, with the other game going as a push. Even with a limited number of games this weekend there are still several games that fit the system.

Bet $38.50 on the following:

1. Alabama vs. Florida (-9) Fl 31 Ala 20 WIN

2. Boston College (-1) at Virgina Tech VT 30 BC 12 loss

Bet $27.50 on the following:

1. Middle Tennesse State (+5) vs. UL Lafayette UL 42 MTSt 28 loss

2. Louisville at Rutgers (-10) Louisville has really struggled on the road this year and Rutgers has turned what looked to be a bad year into another winning season. Rutgers defense is much better than Louisville. Louisville has allowed over 30 points on the road while Rutgers is holding teams to 16. Lay the points here with Rutgers.  RUTGERS 63 LOU 14 WIN

3. Buffalo at Ball State (-15) BUFF 42 BSU 24 loss

4. Navy at Army Under 44.5 NAVY 34 ARMY 0 WIN

5. Washington at California (-35)  CAL 48 WASH 7 WIN

6. USC at UCLA Under 47.5 USC 28 UCLA 7 WIN

7. Arkansas State at Troy (-11) TROY 35 AkSt. 9 WIN

8. Missouri at Oklahoma (-17) I know that Missouri can score and score in bunches on just about anyone, but OK will be ready for them. OK cannot leave any doubts if they want to play in the National Title game. Look for OK to throw the ball a lot and do everything possible to make this a blowout. OK 62 MIZZ 21WIN

9. Missouri at Oklahoma Over 79 TOTAL 83 WIN

10. Arizona State (+11) at Arizona AZ 31 ASU 10 loss

11. Arizona State at Arizona Under 50.5 TOTAL 41 WIN

I like that Rutgers pick. The Lou isn’t anything special and Rutgers surprised me a few times this year, especially with their win against Pittsburgh on the road. Rutgers has won and covered in their last 4. Louisville has lost and not covered in their last 4. Gotta ride the streak. Thursday night at home? Forget about it.

LOU are 5-12 ATS in their last 17 games on grass.

RUTG are 14-6 ATS vs. a team with a losing record.

That is why you can’t bet against these games, Rutgers 63 Lou 14. Even if you don’t like some of the games I posted for this week, the system at least gives you a heads up as to what games to not play against. This big win is a great way to start the week.

I took the Rutgers big and I hope our readers did too. I was licking my chops when I looked into this matchup. I knew I shoulda put more on ’em, but the Lou is always capable of hanging around. I did not see a beatdown like this coming. I thought it would be more like a 34-20 game. It gives me something nice to work with for Sunday.

Hit me up on the comments section of the the NFL Week 14 post and let me know what you think of the games this week. I think the experts and consensus are onto something with the Pats over the Seahawks, so that’s my big game of the week.

Another thing about a streak, anyone can catch fire at any time. I am not a big fan of any pro-handicapper, however about once every few months I will find one capper that gets real hot. Karl Garrett is a very good capper when it comes to the college basketball and when the season starts it seems to bring out the best in him. He has went 9-0-1 on his free money winners over the past 10 days. Last year he won 21 games in a row on his free money winners, it was simply sick. Below is a link to his pick for today.

Karl Garrett’s pick of Navy -10.5 was never in doubt as they won 34-0. That also means the under cashed as well which was one of my picks for the week.
